Health and Safety
Health and Safety is of paramount importance within all of our projects. All members of our team are suitably qualified to ensure that all installations are completed safely. We endeavour to maintain a safe environment for our workers, our customers and the general public, whether in the workshop or on site.
We conform to the tightest Health and Safety practices possible, following current building regulations.
We develop and maintain specific Health and Safety policies for each project: we will produce a method statement for each project and complete risk assessments for all areas and tasks.
Each job has a dedicated Health and Safety manager who is responsible for any day to day Health and Safety issues, as well as maintaining a Health and Safety log. Regular safety meetings are held and all near misses are recorded.
As a steelwork manufacturing company, there are a multitude of Health and Safety requirements facing us, from issues common to all companies such as PAT testing and first aid provision, through to industry specific issues such as: Working at Heights; Safety in Gas Welding; and Specialist Plant and Machinery Operation.
All of our staff are kept up to date with the latest Health and Safety guidance and receive regular training, including City & Guilds CITB accreditation; Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS) certification; IPAF; and Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) training. We also operate a programme of continual development and learning amongst our employees.
All Health and Safety is co-ordinated from the start in accordance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007. This encompasses:
- Appointing the right people
- Allowing adequate time for a project
- Providing accurate information to your team
- Ensuring you and your team communicate and co-operate
- Ensuring suitable management arrangements are in place
- Ensuring adequate welfare facilities on site
- Ensuring workplaces are designed correctly
Through these methods we have achieved an enviable long term safety record with no serious injuries since our company formation in 2009.
We understand that Health and Safety could be your number one factor in choosing a preferred manufacturer for your glass and steel requirements, it would certainly be ours. As such we are happy to answer any questions you might have about out Health and Safety policies, either formally or informally. For more information, please feel free to call.
